Major energy saving with the use of the mobile technology
According to the results of the titled investigation “Telecommunications and CO2” - a Vodafone study in collaboration with the counsel Accenture - there foresees that million tons might diminish in approximately 113 the emission of dioxide of carbon to achieve an energy saving of approximately 43.000 million euros in Europe about the year 2020 (about 2,4 at present foreseen for that year).
Particularly, in Spain the emission would diminish in 10,6 million tons for that year. So that we have an a little more approximate idea, this volume is equivalent to the use of 4,7 million vehicles during the course of one year.
To achieve this target, it would be necessary to replace the products and the physical activity with other variants of the virtual type, in addition to developing the electrical networks, logistics, creating cities and more intelligent and rational systems (type “machine to machine” or M2M). This also implies that in our continent they go so far as to use about billion wireless connections.
Certainly this forecast will be able only to be reached by the joint effort of the companies and the states to reduce the effects of the greenhouse effect.
